Consider your use case

Is this a garment? If yes, what season(s) do you plan to wear it in? Is the goal to hold lots of warmth or to be breathable and cool? How important is the ability to machine wash versus hand wash your garment to you actually wearing it? 

If you're making an object that isn't a garment or wearable accessory (such as home decor), consider how it might get worn down or washed.

No matter what, make sure to think about this!

Are there any skin sensitivities or other reasons you might want to avoid certain materials?
